  • Osteoporosis affects bone strength throughout the body, including the jaw. This can influence how your mouth heals after procedures like extractions or implants, and may affect denture fit over time. Some medications used to treat osteoporosis, such as bisphosphonates or denosumab, carry a small risk of medically related osteonecrosis of the jaw (MRONJ), a rare but serious condition.

It’s important to tell us if you’re taking these medications. With proper planning and regular check-ups, dental treatments can be carried out safely and effectively.

Seeing us before treatment, maintaining good oral hygiene, and more regular visits can help prevent problems from occurring and improve your comfort during cancer care.
